I forgot to update this journal. So, lets try make it quick.
Essentially, after we won CICAF preliminaries on Hinode 2015 with Tekken we were lazing a little bit
WCS/CICAF Russian preliminaries - WIN!This year once again we took part in Russian WCS/CICAF preliminaries. Well, it was the 1st year for CICAF, and 4th for WCS, but still (we participated in 2013 and 2014, took 2nd and 3rd places accordingly). There was even greater competition this year, but also two Awards of Invitation, for WCS 2015 and for CICAF 2016. And we won award of invitation for CICAF, so now we are considered CICAF 2016 Team Russia - first ever to my knowledge ^_^
We participated with Tekken 6 stunt fighting skit and at last we managed to make everything right! I loved Asuka and wanted to make her for several years, though only after our fail on WCS preliminaries 2014 (3rd place due to not-quite-our-best performance in full-plate Soulk Calibur IV armor) we decided to make next year's performance based on stunt fighting and not fencing. My partner ErikDesler selected 2 characters originally, but we decided to make Lars' costume because it's so cool Well, when we finished making it (yeah, as usual -
So. We just participated in a couple of conventions as a jury members + we made costumes and short fencing skits just for that. Thus we participated in Panikon! and selected Russian representative for EuroCosplay 2015? who then actually won EuroCosplay finals. MrsGnob is GREAT and she's making such beautiful dresses. I love them every time. And she's so nice! *___*

Also we re-made our Soul Calibur V costumes AND we had a photoshoot at last! And we won yet another 1st place I forgot to upload other photos, they are on our FB and VK pages.


And, last but not the least in the beginning of 2016 we won 2nd place on J-fest with other re-made costumes - Opera! old and new versions:
 
Mainly I added white lace on the bottom of the skirt, it was meant to be there from the beginning, but I had no time and lace when I first finished the dress for the scene. And I added volume to my flower head Now it matches art perfectly too.

And now! We plan to participate in Hinode 2016 tomorrow with our new Super Mario Bros. costumes, and next week we are going to China for CICAF China Cosplay Super Show as Team Russia n our new Dynasty Warriors 8 costumes! So, wait for it and wish us luck!

My partner ErikDesler selected 2 characters originally, but we decided to make Lars' costume because it's so cool Well, when we finished making it (yeah, as usual - both costumes made from scratch by the two of us) it's weight was 20+ kg and we were not sure how much of the intended moves will be hindered by it (answer is: 2 moves. We got rid of one move by ending the skit the other way, and made sure we'll make second on stage). But still! Perfect Lars, IMHO

We are quite happy right now And thinking 'bout what to make for China.

I am a long time Final Fantasy fan. And in all FF series my absolute favourite character is Oerba Yun Fang. I really love her; she's strong, independent, reliable and beautiful woman, who always protect her friends and literally will tear down the skies to save loved one. And she's kinda badass So I wanted to cosplay her as soon as I've seen her in FFXIII (her first appearance on screen is just WOW. As is her reunion with Vanille ). It helped that my friend Luckydakk planned to make Vanille, so I think that was Destiny in motion here
I re-made the costume twice, for 1st time I realy had no time to finish it. There are a high level of detalisation in FFXIII costumes, and there are also problems with fabric and materials selection thanks to renders which show the texture of all the details. I re-made my Bladed Lance twice, also.
Most of the problems were with saree border, which I was forced to make from scratch in photoshop (not 1 version of saree border ornament in web is correct, imho) and then order fabric print. Also, her sandals were a pain, as was Bladed Lance. But I managed to finish it and I am SO happy I have a costume of my favourite character ever! Even more happy that I have my Vanille and our photos together

Forgot to mention our trip to Nizhniy Novgorod for Animania convention. Originally, there was an "Old School Anime 90s" theme, so we were glad to submit our ROLW costumes. Unfortunately, there was so little old school costumes submitted that organizators decided to skip this theme, but nevertheless accepted. So, we did go there on the general terms and, somehow, won Well, actually we took 1st place in Eastern defile section. 

As for me - I upgraded my Deed costume: made another version - the one from OVA and several arts. And we also re-assebled our swords (Ashram's mainly). Hope we'll manage to have a photoshoot with new versions too!

Unfortunately, there was some problems with my other costumes, thanx to that I haven't finished Fang's saree border, belt and weapon to the date of our first stage appearance. So, to finish this costume I organised new deadline for myself, that being EuroCosplay preliminaries in Russia. I knew that this was not the costume for this event, but I needed deadline and either way planned to visit Panikon! convention in Kaliningrad, during which the preliminaries were held. New, 2.0 version of saree and Bladed lance turned out better than I hoped
