Thank you very much! I love this photo myself, and very thankful to Tis (our photographer) that she agreed to go to the forest with us to have this photoshoot, though she never worked with horses before this :)

That's so cool.  I love ROLW.  It was one of the earliest animes I watched.  Deedlit was one of my favorite characters and you look amazing as her.  Your costume looks great and the metal parts of your sword look nice and shiny. Your photographer also got a nice shot with you on the horse.  All in all, awesome job by you and your friends.

Thank you very much for the praise! Actually we'd post fight with Ashram as well, and you'll see that my sword is maid of actual steel :)

Oh WOW, I just took a look like you said and I see a metal sword.  Very nice.  I always preferred a metal sword prop as apposed to a foam or plastic or wooden one.  Nice job getting one made.

Well, we were fighting with our swords, so of course we had metal, we'd broke any props with our blows =__=

Nice.  Did you make the swords yourself, with a friend or maybe asked a professional to make it?

Nope, the swords made by us too :) Well, mine assembled on bought fencing blade, 'cause we were actually fighting with them. The guard and handle made with aliminium tubes filled with epoxy (right around blade's end), then the handle was wrappen in thick leather stripes and painted blue (handle) and gold (guard), on the end there's a screw installed in the decoration, and the finishing decoration - with the game (glass bead) is plastic.

Now we disassemle this "sword" and my blade (we've got couple of those blades for our fencing) was used for me kamael's rapier - laset editm with the hand-made guards:

When we made those costumes couple of years ago and were fencing on-stage first time we've got only our standart sport rapier blades (but with non-sport guards even then):

Thank gods now we've got many blades (starting from rapirs and dagas to zweihander) and can made just about any sword for our stage-fencing :)

Nice.  That was a really smart idea.  I totally didn't think of the option of buying a sport weapon and modifying it.  And the fact that you can re-use the blade for other similar swords and live performances just makes it all the more awesome.  Really wish I had the option to do that too.  The conventions I cosplay at ban any prop with metal on it and any prop that was originally made for martial arts practice.

Well, all of our blades are technically not weaponary, though it is steel. And by now most convention/festivals organisators in Moscow at least know that we are the fencers and are not likely to hurt ourselves of smb. els with the steel. We'd had problems if it wasn't possible to use steel, 'couse any prop would brake evantually.

Why do your cons ban sport/martial art weaponary? It's a real pity :(
