I wrote many times that I am Final Fantasy fan. Actually, I love best FFVII compilation, FFVIII and FFXIII (thought I played FFIX and FFX I don't like them. I do love Lulu, though :)). But in all FF series my absolute favourite is Fang. I really love her; she's strong, independent, relayable and beautiful woman, who always protect her friends and literally will tear down the skies to save loved one. And she's kinda badass :) So I wanted to cosplay her as soon as I've seen her in FFXIII (her first appearance on screen is just WOW. As is her reunion with Vanille :)). It helped that my friend luckydakk planned to make Vanille, so I think that was Destiny in motion here :)
Unfortunately, there was some problems with my other costumes, thanx to that I haven't finished Fang's saree border, belt and weapon to the date of our first stage appearance. So, to finish this costume I organised new deadline for myself, that being EuroCosplay preliminaries in Russia. I knew that this was not the costume for this event, but I needed deadline and either way planned to visit Panikon! convention in Kaliningrad, during which the preliminaries were held. New, 2.0 version of saree and Bladed lance turned out better than I hoped :)

Whoops, I forgot to write that I have made 3rd Final Fantasy costume this year :) The idea was to make simple and comfortable costume to travel, thus - no weapons, no wings, no hoopskirts and such. I always loved Tifa Lockheart, but her FFVII costume... yack. Hate it, really. Than in FFVII ACC there were another much more convinient costume. I loved it! But had no plans to make it.
This summer I decided to travel to Kaliningrad festival, and thus I decided to make Tifa's costiume. To have a deadline I also apply for cosplay party (Cosplay Rush 6).
I've had REALLY hard time looking for appropriate boots. She does have canvas boots BUT on proper white combat sole with heel. I don't get why does everybody just use convers and such, combat soles are much more convinient in battle. Anyway, second complication was the one with her "skirt" (apron and train, actually), 'cause it's made of Cordura (it can be clearly seen in the scene in the chirch when she's fighting with Loz and her 'skirt' seen all across the screen - it's CLEARLY not leather or anything - it's cordura or any other heavy-duty material).
So, my version of Tifa Lockheart Final Fantasy VII Advent Children outfit:

And YES, it's really comfortable to travel and fight :)

I am a married woman with 7 y.o. kid and a rather demanding job, thus I don't have that much time for the cosplay, especially since I sew and craft most of my costumes. That is the main reason I have such a short list of finished costumes, though I always have a huge list of wanted cosplays-to-do.

Most of the project now includes fencing and, by extension, my fencing partner - ErikDesler, and thus most of our paired cosplay includes some kind of weaponry (mostly steel swords) and now open-handed combat and stunts as well. Our cosplay and fencing duet named Sword Art OFFline.
